The
pretty hill village of Prines with its old stone buildings, narrow
streets and Venetian facades, lies some 6 km inland from Rethymnon,
in a verdant olive growing area, some 5 km from the nearest beach.
This 300sqm luxurious neo classical villa sitting on a small incline
on the edge of the village within a 2500sqm plot of land, is perfect
for visitors who are looking for peace, relaxation and comfort.
It is a very elegant and spacious villa, comfortably accommodating
8 people, and is well equipped and furnished, with
central heating for cooler periods of the year.
There are 4 bedrooms, and three bathrooms. The ground floor bedroom
has a romantic draped four poster bed, and there is a marble bathroom.
Of the three upstairs bedrooms two have a double bed, and share
a luxurious bathroom with large corner bath, the fourth bedroom
has twin beds and a separate shower/WC. The open plan fully equipped
modern kitchen includes an electric hob and oven. In the basement
of the house there is a garage and a utility room with a washing
machine. There is a dining room and a large elegant living room
with TV, with an open marble staircase rising to the upper floor.
All the rooms have a balcony or terrace, which have beautiful views.
It is not easy to convey the quality, which is expressed in this
villa, but perhaps the white marble floors throughout tell a tale.
A 75sqm swimming pool with a children’s pool is attractively
set in the gardens to the side of the house and the surrounding
sun terraces and lawn are well equipped with sun beds and sun umbrellas,
and there is also a BBQ.
There are tavernas and shops in the nearby village of Atsipopoulo,
about 2 km away, which is noted by the locals as having some of
the best tavernas in the area. We do consider that a car is essential.
