Elia is a traditional hamlet, having 450 inhabitants only, and situated 15 km away from Heraklion, 10 km from the airport, and 4 km from the beachside village of Kokkini Chani. The nearest
taverna, cafenion, bakery and supermarket are easily reached after
only some 100 metres. Worthwhile outings to be made are the village
and water-park of Anopolis, 4 km away, and the archaeological
site of Amnissos, at a distance of 8 km.
